Knurled lock screws for the gibs

Ive never been a fan of the lever lock screws for locking the table on a Mill so i made some round knurled ones. I dont have alot of material here at home so i bought four bolts, knurled a chuck of 2" 1080, drilled, bored a recess for the bolt heads to sit in, welded then faced to clean them up.

  • Started with a 2" piece of 1018 around 6" long.
  • Took a skim pass over the OD and knurled the OD over a 3" span.
  • Drilled, counter bored and cut off each one at a 1/2".

Note: i am no welder :-)
