This article/page is part of a larger project, the main project page is: MINI NC Controller for Z-axis
The Arduino Mega has 4 KB (4096 bytes) of EEPROM memory.
After doing some research online i decided to buy a 256K I2C CMOS Serial EEPROM chip and a female socket for two reasons: one more room, second if anything happened i could just buy another chip to replace the one in use and i would not have to mess with the Arduino board.
How i whent about this was soldering the chip to a board along with two long female headers.
These female headers are for the SDL and SDA wires for all other chips that need SDL and SDA hookups.
